The Watagans is a picturesque mountain range located north of Sydney and west of Lake Macquarie.

The main arterial route is relatively easy to intermediate, and most riders or 4WDs can pass through without too much difficulty. Along this route, several campsites and a wide selection of trails branch off.

It is possible to travel from the west side of the range (Laguna) to the east side or from the south (Yarramalong) to the north (Heaton Road); however, at the time of writing, the Yarramalong route is currently closed.

The Watagans is an excellent spot for adventure-seekers and nature-lovers alike. Its stunning views, varied wildlife, and plenty of trails to explore make for a fantastic day out.
